Roderick Penraith

Born in Cardiff, Roderick Penraith spent his early years exploring the industrial valleys of South Wales. His interest in working-class history led him to study archive materials across the UK, researching the lives of overlooked labor pioneers and regional organizers.

His research eventually resulted in his published biography, The Birmingham Foundry. By focusing on personal letters and local records, he reconstructs the daily struggles and political convictions of historical figures who shaped early industrial communities.

He writes from a small farm in west Wales. When he is not working in his study, he manages a small orchard, restores old stone walls, and hikes the coastal paths.
